Ah as the Bruins march towards glory (knock wood) it's a good time to be discussing the wedding of the only roomie I've ever had to bleed blue and gold. In college angie was one of the biggest bruins fans i knew and a fun roommate to boot. Sadly since I've moved back to California she lived literally a block away but sadly schedules didn't allow us to hang out much. (read: I work too much and she has a life. and a boyfriend then fiancee and now husband).
The wedding she threw was a blast, with an overall UCLA theme, flowers of blue and yellow, favors of diddy reese cookies (the cookie that has provided sustenance and joy to pretty much all bruins. Seriously, who went to UCLA but didn't eat these?); and an awesome cake topper crafted by one of the groomsmen. The officiant even mentioned UCLA in his speech.

Pictures from furious photographers, great photographers that also graduated from UCLA recently, check out their other pics. Very cool. Hire them quick before they get out of our price range!
Also, isn't that cake pretty? How'd he do the flowers on the bride bear's head?
Well all this Bruin pride must have been good karma because the Bruins beat Stanford 67-64. And to top off a night of fabulous food and fun, a SURPRISE guest arrived:
JOE BRUIN!!

Cheston surprised Angie by arranging for the bear to arrive at the reception, the bear arrived as the UCLA fight song came on and the entire reception hall cheered and did the UCLA clap. Jazzed from the win the bear came from the game and got to the wedding in time. By the way, through out the night most popular were the happy couple (as it should be), but the bear's popularity was pretty close. It was truly delightful! Plus the bear got a groove going and got people out on the dance floor.
The bear missed out on the great food and ingenious icebreaker though.

That's one course. The one thing I know will happen at a Chinese Wedding banquet is that there will be more food than our table can handle. AND we were short by 2 people which resulted in an even greater abundance of food. It was a difficult thing to face the truth as we packed up boxes of food to take home.
But I absolutely loved this idea for an icebreaker!
Each table had sodas and two bottles of liquor. But each table had different types of liquor and types withing categories. Each table also had a card printed with table numbers and the other types, and invited everyone to help themselves to other tables' bottles and to get to know each other. What a great idea!

All in all a really great day. Congratulations you two!

May your glasses of champagne always sparkle Bruin gold!
